Experience

Hello there! My name is Pinky, and I have been tutoring for nearly 6 years now! Since I have begun, my goal has always been to provide quality tutoring to those in need of further development in particular academic areas and/or those in need of learning and retaining new information. Over the years, I have come to learn that my teaching style will always be accommodated to the learning style of my student(s). I believe that this is the best way to help one truly become more efficient in any given subject! Please be assured that whether you (or your child) are a visual, auditory, reading/writing, or kinesthetic learner (or a combination), I will be able to adapt to your learning style and help you to the best of my ability! :-) During my matriculation in undergrad, I have taken: College Algebra (A), Trigonometry & Analytic Geometry (A), Statistics (B), Physics (A), English Composition (A), American Literature (A), Chemistry (A), and many Psychology courses (Mostly all A's, 3 B's). *I am more than happy to provide an Unofficial Transcript upon request :-)*

Hobbies

Apart from the fact that I am a grad student (I plan on obtaining my PhD. in Clinical Psychology to become a Clinical Neuropsychologist) and tutor, I am also a Flight Attendant! I am told that I have a very bubbly/chipper personality! I believe that laughing is the best medicine, and happen to have a fun-loving, humorous side! I enjoy visiting museums, traveling, playing tennis, volunteering my time to non-profit organizations, reading, and cooking! I also am an animal lover and have an adorable little morkie (half maltese and half yorkie)! I would one day love to have a bigger dog, and maybe a sun conure! One of my best friends is my little 12 year old sister who happens to call me her "wonder woman" - she is my world! Other than my little sister, some of my closest friends are from various parts of the world including South Africa, India, Afghanistan, Canada, Pakistan, Guyana, Brazil, Taiwan, China, Puerto Rico, Mexico, etc. Having such wonderful people in my life has been one of the biggest blessings I've had! Apart from majoring in Psychology and being enrolled in a Master's program, having a diverse group of friends has also contributed to my attainment of multicultural competency, not only in my daily, but also in my professional life. I believe that experiencing the richness of different cultures from around the world is the best way to not only adapt to those different cultures, but also to learn how to interact with individuals within those cultures - a quality that I find to be very important when tutoring! Usually, my time spent with my friends includes going to the movies, eating good food, go-karting, bowling, hiking on nature trails, going for jogs or runs, swimming, etc. :-) Please let me know if there is anything else that you would like to know about me! I will be more than happy to answer any questions for potential students or parents of students. :-)
